I'm a big fan of colourful socks, so imagine my joy at discovering this Swedish sock maker, called Happy Socks.
They have a wonderful selection of colours and patterns, in all sizes (they are unisex). It is like that feeling of walking into a candy store for the first time with a shiny pound (or dollar) in your pocket!
Best of all they ship worldwide!
If you do order anything, be sure to post a look when they arrive!
If you have any other clothing discoveries that you think may be of interest to any of us, it would be great if post them here!

as for various sorts of shoes, i found howcool.com to be quite good!
as for the eco&vegan-friendly shoes, these sites rock:

When it comes to woven fabric coverings for my feet and lower leg region, then I turn to Posh Togs.
The Pantherella and Richard James socks fit me like a treat, and they just get better with age.

That sounds like a fun idea, although I wouldn't be qualified to comment on this trend you describe :P
... but from my point of view, any creativity in this area is to be applauded!
If ever I'm in dark colours, I like the idea of putting in a little burst of colour; especially with a little portion of a sock pattern that peeps out from the ankle.
Much as I love colourful socks, I think subtle patterns are really fun to work with too!
