i'm going to be doing a cross country road trip starting in January with a friend. living out of my van, taking as long as i want to. we are planning to visit lots of people we know, but also wanna hear about good places to stop along the way, mainly more obscure places that most people dont know about.

Well a friend of mine informed me how the Dept of Highways sprays herbicide for a mile on both sides of the road to kill any psychedelic cacti that might be growing in the ditch. If you walk more than a mile out though you will apparently find all the Mescalito you could ever need :)

thanks guys. we're definitely up for just driving and seeing where we end up, that will be most of what we do in between visiting friends. We are going to take our time getting across the country, probably 3-4 months and have no plans to be anywhere specific. but are there any like really cool unknown places you have been that i should check out? like obscure things in your towns that people don't know about? let me know, thanks :-)

haha Isuppose you could go right up north and around scotland & wales & drive right along the coast then do all the major cities. But even then driving through all that doesn't seem any more fun than visiting each one separately :(

ha, I wanted to do this too :)
roadtrips in England would only take a few days, & I think I'd just get to London and not want to go anywhere else, haha.

That's such a cool idea to do! I was thinking about doing something like that too. In the US, of course. In Holland it's a one-day trip and then you've seen it all.
