hey Mara as you are local people there, i would like to ask that do you know what las vegas look like in before time? cowboy land? I'm not so sure about it. there is desert right? so before it became like today do you have any image about it?

It is in the desert, although it never really had much to do with cowboys. It was actually really settled and built up by Mormons during the late 1800s. It was especially known as a good rest stop for travelers crossing the desert because of its natural wells (which are long gone now), and it was an important location for railroads.

During the era of prohibition, it was particularly famous for its speakeasies which were connected to various gangs. Gangster/mafia culture is really more entrenched in the city's history than cowboys are.
