you should go to aldgate. it's full of vinatge-, second-hand- and thrift shops. it's basically the place where students hang out. and it has amazing markets. when i visited london, i mainly hung around there.. <3

I recommend Camden Market, you can haggle for stuff in that place which is good.
Shops in Shoreditch, like Pop boutique.

go to beyond retro in soho - it's incredible in there.
camden is of course amazing for anything at all.
try portobello market as well.

If you're into vintage, then of course round Brick Lane.... (as has been suggested before).
Literally next door to the Aldgate East tube station, you will find the recently refurbished Whitechapel Art Gallery. It is free entry. It is an incredible gallery and not as crowded as the more famous and bigger galleries in the centre of town.
