Have any of you who live in the US ever ordered from Innocent World (or any Japanese website)?

I live in the US and have taken an interest in lolita style clothing. Of course most of the brands that sell lolita clothing are based in Japan, so I'm wondering if any of you have ever ordered from Innocent World or any Japanese website and if so if you had to pay an import tax. My fear of how much they'll tax me for my clothing is the only thing standing between me and some lovely new clothes. almost 3 years ago |

Hiya, I've ordered from Baby, the stars shine bright & Closet Child before.
I was lucky never to get custom fee's, though I'm from the UK XD
You should probably ask around on egl if u have lj?

It sounds like it might be expensive if you're getting Lolita clothes from Japan... I've seen some decent Lolita clothes for very good prices online that are based in the U.S. You could also try ebay.

Oh how could I forget?!
If you live close to San Fransisco, they have a Baby, the Stars Shine Bright store there!
Or if you want to buy second hand... community.livejournal.com/egl_comm_sales/

I have spent quite a bit of time on the egl community. Sadly so far everything I've liked hasn't been the right size for me.
...and I wish I lived near San Francisco, because it's one of my favorite places in the world. I'll keep that in mind the next time I'm there though.
Thank you for the help.
