What do you think about dip dyed hair? I want mine done.

Her pink is gorgeous but I just want mine my natural colour (brown) faded out to a lighter brown or caramel colour. I know alot of people's is just grown out dye which I used to have for years and dyed over it, now I want it back, typical!! Kinda like Caroline Blomst...

@Helen C.

it was so easy but it takes patience (4 hours for me)!
Just buy a lightening kit (bleach), it costs like 10$.
Then try and see how high you'll want the ombré to be.
Now it's really important you test the bleach first on a little strand of hair and see how long you have to keep it in for it to be blond or golden, whatever shade you want it. You'll be able to see the appromixate time you need to keep it in for the brightest part on the bottom.
Might I add that I have asian hair, which tends to be really dark and coarse, so I kept mine in pretty long (about 65 minutes in total).
As soon as you know how long you need to put the first application (which is on the bottom), you just subtract about 10-20 minutes between the next.
For example, leave in the bottom 30 minutes, then add more going upwards, leave in for 20 minutes, add more for 10 minutes later and so on. Keep it all on until you reached the top of where you want it to stop. (Be careful to not leave it in too long as it will make your hair platinum blonde, if you're caucasian.)

Tip : when you apply the bleach, do random upper strokes so you don't create a harsh line and attain the suave ombré!
And when you're done, use the conditioner that comes in the box ASAP cause your hair is getting damaged.

And of course, use aluminum foil to wrap up every strand to help the bleach take effect.
xx
sorry if i'm not too clear, I did this a while ago!

I want to do this soon, I think I'll make the bottom a ginger kind of red, since that's the colour my hair looks like when I'm out in the sun :)

Do it! I'm not a fan of hair dying, piercings, tattoos, etc - I want to stay all natural. But I think this style is really cute! It's like ombre for your hair!

I don't know what to do with mine, for the last year I've been having blonde slices (like highlights but in the bottom layers of your hair only) which has a similar effect but not sure whether to do this instead of having them redone (which would basically just strengthen the effect I have at the moment). Main issue is I dont really like my natural hair colour at the roots, hence why I usually have blonde put all the way through.

I havent really got good photos to show. this was when I had more slices at the beginning of the summer but now the roots are much much darker

I think it's really lovely on some people, but. it can get icky when they throw in all sorts of colors. The most gorgeous girl that I know has this bigass, wavy dip-dyed hair and her hair was black before and she put in this like auburn color and it's amaazing. my hair, unfortunately is not long enough to really do this.

I think everyone in the world should hop on this bandwagon, I love it.

i got mine sort of done the other day. the hairdresser persuaded me not to dip dye it as i had bleach in my hair already and it would be too damaging. instead had loads of highlights through the bottom of my hair.

this was the result

I think dip dye looks amazing on anybody - I currently have it and my hair's short, and I've done several friends'...! It's so easy to DIY as well - just bleach the bottom, but 'feather' the application slightly the further up you go, it gives more of a 'gradient'!

Also, don't use anything stronger than a 30vol developer with the bleach/lightener if you're doing it yourself...!

^ (Hair breakage from bleach damage is a bitch -.- )
